Village of Inglewood Association has shared their October Newsletter
http://www.villageofinglewood.com/

From Town:
Richard Paterack attended our meeting to discuss the proposal of the new Community Event Fund. There are many aspects of the proposal that impact our community events. Mr. Paterak has referred the proposal back to staff and a couple of VIA members will meet with area residents groups to discuss the proposal. If you’d like more information, please contact VIA. VIA is still proposing that the residents of Inglewood should be able to use THEIR community centre for use on stat holidays, New Years Eve for example. This issue is going to council again and recommendations for ways to make it happen will be brought forth.

Re-Structuring:
Karen Cal-Doody has stepped down as co-chair from VIA due to her successful new business, she remains on VIA as a member at large. Kate Vaughan now will hold the Chair position.

Movie Night Re-Cap:
Movie night was lots of fun for those who attended. Unfortunately VIA lost money by holding the event with such a small turn out. Because the movie rights were bought last year (when the original event was supposed to be hold but rained out) Thoughts around holding such an expensive event was discussed and ideas around holding something smaller were brought up. Have any ideas? Let us know.

Tennis Club:
The Tennis Club is still open! Enjoy these last few days of nice weather on the courts! The Tennis Club is now making the moves towards applying for grants to help get the courts resurfaced.

Garden Club:
The Garden Club will be putting the village beds to ‘bed’ towards the end of the month. In it’s 10 years history the Garden Club has grown to 26 members! The money VIA donated to the Garden Club has gone towards annuals in the gardens and winter decorations for the main street in the village. If you have any birch trees coming down on your property please let VIA know so the Garden Club can collect them for the main street decorations.

Inglewood Minor Baseball:
End of season picnic had a new idea of wood fired pizza oven mobile truck and it was a huge hit. 50 players this year in the league.

Farmers Market:
Last day for Farmers’ Market is next week, October 9th! Come out and support our fabulous vendors!

Parks and Recreation:
Parks and Rec has done a great job bringing programs into Inglewood. Pass on your ideas for programs you’d like to see! Ice time is now available to rent at Inglewood Arena, public skating times are the same as last year, Sundays 2:15-3:45. Other programs will be posted as soon as we know.

Incorporating Info:
Paperwork is being finalized to incorporate the Village of Inglewood.

Jinglewood:
This year, Jinglewood will be held on December 1st at 5:00pm. More details to follow but mark your calendars!
