Credit Valley Trail: Completed by 2017?

Posted on Posted in Caledon Trail, Uncategorized

An article in Volume 27 of the Country Routes newspaper outlines the boost in movement to finish the Credit Valley Trail, that has all hikers, runners, bikers, walkers, and many more, very excited. This trail will interchange Caledon, Erin and Orangeville with access to Lake Ontario. This trail will be extremely beneficial, not only for the convenience in the new access to the lake, but by bringing fellow environmental enthusiasts together, which will be valuable for both the environment and surroundings citizens. The trail is anticipated to heighten nature appreciation, enhance fitness levels and has potential to become a popular tourist attraction. The trail is also inviting to those in wheelchairs, moms-on-the-go with strollers, and even snowmobiles, for some winter fun!

As previously outlined by Phil Gravelle, the completion of the trail has been discussed since the early 1950s, and although surrounding trails have been completed, and connect conservation grounds within the area, individuals in the area believe that that the time is now. They feel that now is as good a time as any to finish the trail,  as we will be celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday in 2017, as this will bring Canadians together and show them more of what this beautiful country has to offer!
