A stunningly beautiful sight to witness – a healthy flock of mature swans taking flight in the early morning light from a large pond on the west side of Highway 10, south of the Forks of the Credit Road. The light glistened off their brilliant feathers as they rose in their regular V formation.
The Mute Swan is considered by many to be an invasive species to North America. It seems offensive that some are calling for a rigorous cull of this mammoth, beautiful avian.
Please keep an eye on the sky and along your waterfront to let us know if your neighbourhood has become the summer residence of these magnificent creatures.
